Sahar Anjum – Senior. “My name is Sahar Anjum and I am the new president for the 2016-2017 school year! I am currently a senior working towards a double major in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Medicine and Society. After graduation, I intend to pursue a Ph. D. in Neuroscience, with a research focus in drug addiction. I am a research assistant in Dr. Zvolensky’s Anxiety and Health Research Lab and Substance Use Treatment Clinic. I also work at a retirement community and volunteer with Alzheimer’s patients.”
Mohammad Abdel-Aziz – Junior. “Hey y’all! I’m Mohammad, but y’all can just call me Moe, I’ll be serving as your Vice President this year! I’m currently a Junior pursuing a BS in Psychology as well as a BBA in Accounting. I’m currently a research assistant in the Anxiety and Health Research Lab as well as the Culture Risk and Resilience Lab. My research interests include anxiety disorders, depression, and suicide. After graduating I hope to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology.”
Kimberly Ibidapo – Junior.
“Hey, my name is Kimberly lbidapo, and I am the Treasurer for the Spring 2017 semester. I am a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Development Family Studies. I hope to go to graduate school to pursue a master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. I am currently a research assistant at Dr. Babcock’s Marriage & Counseling Lab. I highly enjoy reading and researching about personality disorders, addiction and relationship dynamics.”
Hoang Tran – Senior. “Hello, my name is Hoang Tran but you can just call me Han. I curream ntly a senior majoring in psychology (big shocker) and minoring in mathematics. I am a RA for the sleep and anxiety and the cognitive and behavioral neuroscience lab.”
Adriana Valdes – Senior – I am Adriana Valdes the new Historian for Psi Chi and Psychology Club for the Spring 2017 semester. I am majoring in Psychology and minoring in Mexican American Studies. I am currently a Research Assistant in the Child Temperament, Thoughts and Emotions Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Andres Viana. My interest lies in how emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities affect children in a school setting and how to ensure their healthy development. I intend to pursue a graduate degree in School Psychology in order to become a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). I am excited to serve as your historian this semester!”
Cana Quave – Senior. “I am a senior double-majoring in Psychology and Biochemistry. I plan to pursue graduate education in the field of Neuroscience/Pharmacology with the goal of furthering research into the etiology and treatment of addiction and substance use disorders. I am a research assistant in the Developmental Behavioral Neuroscience Lab on campus under Dr. Therese Kosten. I look forward to getting to know everyone this year, hearing some great talks, and putting it down at SWPA in 2017.”
